Derby Disaster

I thought my very first post on football would be one of abundant love and sheer praise for one of the greatest clubs in the world but really, all I can say after last night's Derby is, WHATHEBLOODYHELL.
City fought hard yesterday and succeeded at making our boys wait for a little more time before they conquer the premiership yet again and secure the title for the 20th time. Although we're still 12 points up, there was so much lacking in the gameplay of United yesterday, especially our strike-force. Full-back Rafa was probably the one that put in the most effort in the first half making the best of the few given chances that they had so I'll had to hold back my usual trip on him for cantering up the sidelines like a chook with it's head cut off. What was really tragic was the fact that we didn't create enough chances for ourselves to score. And the goal we manage to obtain was a self. But cheers to Persie my man, brilliant cross that curled towards Jones who was quick enough to head it in but managed to deflect off of Kompany on the way to the back of the net. GAAAH. Beautiful goal from Milner however. Tevez and Nasri made a solid build up towards that one.

Much of the first half was in favour of City but there was equal amounts of energy on both sides. United performed in a much better second half. Another thing I was disappointed about was Persie's lack of finishing. Poor guy must have been having a bit of an off day I suppose. Highlight of the entire match? Substitute Aguero's maddening goal that sealed the deal for his side, receiving the ball several yards away from the goal area and manoeuvered himself past a battalion of defenders, with the end result of him smashing the ball rather elegantly to the roof of the net literally giving meaning to 'bringing down the house' or the net as the case may be. And what a riot he caused! Fantastic shot and effort by the Argentine which I'm sure has elevated the confidence of Mr Mancini's side. They'll need it, that's for sure. Fergie brought in Chicha in the 85th minute which gave us an inkling of hope when he charged straight on for Hart. Oh well,  we're still in the lead buddy!

Glory Glory Man United!!!

EPL: James Milner, Manchester United v Manchester City

                                               Highlights from the game!

So officially, here's my first post on one of the most important things in my life. I watch a LOT of football so I'll keep my blog updated with the latest scores, pictures from games, random shizz, my opinion. I've been into the sport since I was about 7, started playing when I was 9. United fan since I was 9. I also watch La Liga, Ligue 1 and Bundesliga games whenever I can. I don't hate nor do I believe in hating another club just because I'm a fan of one. More on that later. It's called the 'Beautiful Game" for a reason and I'm of the opinion that everyone should make it a part of their lives because you don't just learn how to tackle and shoot. It's SO much more than that as I will show you in the time to come. =)

In addition to football, I also watch Formula 1 and Basketball. I watch occasional rugby games for the heck of it. Cricket's big in India and Australia but I don't really watch too much. Kinda lost interest after it became so commercialized and political. I do enjoy a good Test match though. There are loads of people I've heard who say, "I'm not really a sports person.", which I've never thoroughly understood because you learn SO much! You don't even have to play. Simply watching a game of any kind can keep you on your feet or as is the case with me, on my feet and beating the crap out of things in excitement. Or I'll just convince you eventually that sports is just awesome and you're an idiot if you don't like it. Hee.

Cheers lovelies!
