4-0

HOLY CRAP ON A CRACKER WHAT A GAME! I'm still recovering! I could hardly sleep after. That's the thing with football. It psychs me up so much even though I'm not the one playing. The persistence and skill with which my Germans played literally yelled out to the world that they're around and they're here to stay. Jupp Heyneckes side outclassed and owned the Catalans in the first leg of the semi final at the Allianz Arena. And by owned I mean they DID NOT GIVE UP. The crowd was beyond intense at the German ground and for a good reason!

It started off with Dutchman Robben just about missing what could have been a good goal, Valdes making one heck of a save in the penalty area. Bayern played it cool and low throughout the first half not inching forward too much for the ball and just letting it come to them, and surprisingly it worked! Barca even though they held on to the ball for the first few minutes of the game, messed up a few chances rather sloppily with the big names like Messi, Pedro and Iniesta struggling to keep the ball in their possession. If that wasn't problem enough, BOOM. A beautifully aimed header from my favourite Thomas Muller with a perfect assist headed in by Dante. And that pretty much set the pace for the rest of the first half with Bayern pressing forward and literaqlly closing down on Barca's defenders.

Just five minutes into the first half and TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR yet again but this time from none other than Bayern's latest signing Mario Gomez from Bundesliga rivals, Borussia Dortumund!!!! (for more info, check this link....http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22261981). The German striker scored a stunner of a hattrick in under seven minutes against Wolfburg in the German League after coming in right at the end of the game. Brilliant work from Robben and Muller who saw the ball into close range of Gomez who then scored to make it 2-0. Shawdy work from the Barca defenders, frankly I was surprised!

Dani Alves was one of the stronger players on the Spanish side definitely who managed to toss about a few good shots. Robben made it 3-0 in the 73rd minute curling the ball to a gorgeous finish with a graceful pass and assist from Bastian Schweinsteiger. Bartra missed a really goo dchance right after which would have been a significant goal for Barcelona as every goal counts at this point in the championship! But the game was over the moment Alaba whipped a fancy cross to Muller who again, was in the right place at the right time and found the back of the net to make a monstrous score of 4-0. Literally out-played, I don't think I've ever seen barca suffer such a major loss. In terms of possession Barca were definitely on the winning side but that didn't prove vital in this game . Villa came in later on in the game but couldn't make much of an impact, the same as Messi who didn't seem to be in his element yesterday, possibly due to his recent injury recovery. Not the Argentine's best nonetheless.

Bayern bulldozed the living wits out of Barcelona in a rather shocking 4-0 win! BUT I'M SO ON TOP OF CLOUD NINE. This gives the Germans a major advantage, even if Barca manage to score a couple goals in the second leg. One can only wait and find out! But honestly, Munich deserved this win for the way they played and certainly deserve to be crowned Champions Of Europe. Tonight is also a match I'm itching to watch, Bayern rivals Borussia Dortmund Vs my spanish favourites Real Madrid. I've always been a big fan of Madrid since I first started watching Spanish football and I hope to see them put up a good fight today!

But if it's a Bayern Vs Real Madrid final, my loyalties will be tested. Or I'll just hide. Hee. Until tomorrow, much love and football fanaticism.
